Accomplishments
Acting on the Issues Facing Dentistry! The Arizona Dental Association is committed to providing optimum oral health care and health care information to the citizens of Arizona. This is accomplished in part through strategic alliances and collaborative efforts with like-minded individuals and organizations committed to related principles. Those alliances include but are not limited to the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners (BODEX), Arizona Department of Health Services Bureau of Oral Health, Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) and Arizona Early Childhood Development & Health Board, First Things First, Arizona Meth Project and Arizona’s Native American Tribal Communities. In recent years, due to the support of AzDA members, we have achieved significant victories including but not limited to:
Membership Benefits, Programs & Resources AzDA Endorsements and Savings Members benefit greatly by using AzDA-endorsed companies. In fact if a member used all of the products and services available, the savings would more than pay for their annual membership! Association endorsements include professional liability insurance, office insurance, infection control supplies, office supplies, financial planning, collection agency and much more. AzDA's Western Regional Dental Convention - Adventures Await You! Held each March, a terrific opportunity to network with your colleagues and attend the latest continuing education courses. The trade show features more than 300 exhibits of new and proven dental materials, supplies and equipment. AzDA Publications Members are kept informed on items of interest through AzDA's monthly print publication, Inscriptions, and e-newsletter, EDUpdate. The AzDA website features an extensive "members-only" section. AzDA also publishes an annual Membership Directory. AzDA Legislative Advocacy AzDA maintains an active presence at the Arizona legislature, interacting with various government agencies and non-governmental organizations. Dedicated members and our professional lobbyist monitor all dentistry-related activities statewide, including bills, laws, rules and regulations. AzDA advocates against unnecessary government intrusion into the dental office while protecting the dental health of the public and the integrity of the profession. AzDA Peer Review Program Assists dentists and patients with disputes or misunderstandings regarding the appropriateness or quality of dental treatment, often helping members and their patients avoid costly litigation. AzDA Continuing Education AzDA offers continuing education courses throughout the year for both the dentist and dental staff and specifically focuses on providing course topics that meet with Arizona Board of Dental Examiners licensure requirements.
